We initially booked one night, a Saturday, on website for a King bed room for $112.24. Plans changed and two more nights were added. Somehow we were charged a much higher rate at front desk for the other two nights. The room looked nice, and it was clean. However, the door looked like it had been kicked in, and that was a bit concerning. Bathroom was handicap accessible, which I didn't care for, as the shower tended to flood the bathroom. Also, there were only two bath towels, two face towels and two wash clothes. No housekeeping service unless requested with the excuse of COVID, which is pure silliness. The room heat would not regulate, so either we were freezing or roasting. The room did have a refrigerator and microwave, and that was useful. The bed was very comfortable but could have used an extra blanket. The lobby area looks nice. There is a bar and restaurant that is also nice. The breakfast included with stay was very good and had a nice variety of offerings. The location of the hotel for us was great since my family lives nearby. Overall, we found the stay to be disappointing. We will pick another hotel for our next visit.

Not handicapped accessible as promised

Stayed in this hotel November 11th 2023. We have stayed here several times before but this time needed a handicapped accessible room. We checked in and told her room was accessible. When we get to the room there was a sign outside stating that it was accessible room. When we get inside the room was not accessible it was a typical room. Went back to the front desk and were told there was no other rooms that were accessible that were available. We had to stay in this room which was a hardship as my husband is disabled. Tried contacting the hotel. Took them 5 days to finally get back to me and the woman whose name was Nikki was extremely rude and unhelpful. I want to make sure that no one ever goes through this again and I also wanted my money refunded for the stay. My money was refunded through choice hotels not this hotel.The Americans with disability act was not followed in this hotel

Dirty room wasn't cleaned properly on arrival

I travel on business regularly and this was easily the most disgusting hotel room I have experienced in the US. After I arrived at room 124 at the Burrstone Inn I stepped in a wet, sticky substance in the carpet next to the bed and also noticed a bad small in the carpet near the desk and a sticky substance on the nightstand. I quickly laid down a towel next to my bed and went to sleep. Since it was late I reported the room's condition early the next morning to a gentleman at the front desk ("Zhassa" it says on my bill) and asked for them to clean the carpet properly while I was out for the day with my kid at Hamilton. It was a full hotel because of Family Weekend so I doubted I could move to a different room. The man assured me it would be cleaned properly. When I returned later that evening, the carpet in my room had not been cleaned and it was clear no one had been in my room. I called the front desk and the woman who answered said there was no record of the housecleaning request. Then I was told they don't clean rooms every day unless I had booked five nights because of "Covid," and I was informed there was nothing I could do without calling the general manager on Monday. I spoke to the same gentleman the next day and he said he had asked housecleaning to clean the room but it wasn't done. I asked for them to make good on this serious housecleaning lapse and was told I needed to talk to the general manager on Monday. I tried her number, which doesn't accept messages. I'll never stay here again.

Stayed 9/26/23 - Booked through Priceline, where pet policy was listed as ‘may be a charge’. We were charged 2 fees. The second being a $50 “cleaning fee”. Front desk staff wasn’t knowledgeable, friendly, or courteous. They weren’t sure about policy, suggested I come back in the morning to see if I could cancel. However, I was only staying 1 night and faced the possibility of not only being charged the additional cleaning fee but paying for another lodging and not getting a refund. That didn’t seem to make any sense. Another guest had just been given a key to an occupied room. She was concerned about someone walking into a new room she was assigned to and upset. Female desk person muttered “now we have two”. Toilet didn’t flush properly and eventually clogged. The next mornings staff was on both knowledgeable and courteous, however that could not make up for the overall bad experience. AVOID this place!

Practically on Utica University Campus

So close to Utica University dorms it is practically on the campus. We were doing a freshman drop-off and this hotel was close and affordable. Good breakfast. Clean room, comfy bed. Overall hotel was clean, new rugs. Pool was very nice. Shower needed better pressure but that is my only negative.
